As Shawn Bowman worked as a carpenter in the 90’s, he kept thinking, “There must be a better way.” Customers were settling for subpar work that was never completed on time and there was a huge disconnect on communication. Almost always over the quote customers were originally given. These practices seemed standard in the building industry and left homeowners with a negative impression of general contractors.
Bowman set out to break the perception of how contractors do business. In 1998, he began California Dream Builders, a company specializing in Custom home remodels, including bathroom remodels, kitchen remodels and complete home renovations.
Using the latest computer software, Bowman and his team set a complete schedule for each project, holding weekly meetings with the homeowners to update them on their progress. Bid proposals are detailed and easy to understand.
“I want homeowners to feel respected, to know their concerns are heard,” Bowman said.
“The results speak for themselves.”
Greg and Lisa Stein of Rose Garden used California Dream Builders to remodel their kitchen and family room.
